Use and Care
Gigil bags are designed to tolerate the stresses that any parent is subject to and are made from the highest quality and most durable materials we can find. Our changing bags fit more than just the essentials but if you over fill the bags this can lead to strain on the stitching and vegan leather which can lead to rips and tears if you are not careful.
As a company trying to change and save the world one bag at a time, we believe that giving you the information now will give you the best chance at keeping your bag in the best condition and stop bags going to waste.
Bag and zip care - Follow these easy steps to look after your Gigil bag and keep it at its best:
External Cleaning
Wipe using a damp cloth or sponge. Please do not use any sanitiser, wipes, or spray as this will discolour and stain your bag.
Internal Cleaning
All our bags have a water-resistant gigil lining which can be wiped clean. Please do not put your Gigil bag in the washing machine as this may damage the bag as well as your washing machine!
Cleaning your Teddy Nappy Caddy
Interior: The wipeable interior makes cleaning up spills and messes a breeze. Simply wipe down the inside with a damp cloth and mild soap.
Exterior (The Teddy Fleece): The outer fleece material requires a slightly different approach. Here's how to keep it looking fresh:
- Spot Cleaning: For small spills or stains, act quickly! Blot up any excess liquid with a clean, absorbent cloth. Then, mix a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Dampen a clean cloth in the solution, wring it out thoroughly so it's not soaking wet, and gently dab the stain. Avoid scrubbing, as this can spread the stain or damage the fleece.
Changing Mats
Our changing mats are machine washable at 30 degrees.
Zips
If your zips get stuck, avoid pulling it free if there is tension in the zip as this can cause the zip teeth to bend and the zip will become harder to close and open. This can also happen if there is pressure on the zip from the bag being over filled. We advise opening your bag whilst the base of the bag is supported so the zips to do not have too much pressure on them whilst you open the bag.
Pram Clips
All our changing bags come with pram clips. Please only use the pram clips to hang your bag from your pram. If they get stiff, try lip balm or candle wax to loosen them up. If not, please contact us at support@gigil.com and we will get some new pram clips sent out for you!
